During our trip, Karen kept up with a lot of our activity. Our watches recorded how far we walked each day. She tallied all of the other activities.

—We took 30 different trains

—we traveled 2,570 miles on trains

—We made six flights, traveling 9,375 miles

—We walked 168 miles

—Total distances covered in all transportation, 12,113 miles

—We took 12 buses

—We rode 4 cable cars

—We took 4 Ubers and 2 taxis

—We rode 16 subways

—We took 2 ferries

—We took 2 Town Wall walks

—We took cruises on two rivers—Thames and Seine and one of the ferries was on the Rhine

—We were 906 feet off the ground at the Eiffel Tower

—We were 801 feet off the ground at the Shard in London

—The largest city we were in was London, 8.6 million people

—The smallest town was Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland with 2,290 people

—Our steepest grade of mountain hiking was 12 to 19 percent grade
